WARNING!!! This books is incredibly tense, full of heart pounding suspense and careful clue searching. This will have you on the edge of your seats, wanting to scream at the characters. You’ll have the urge to flip to the end to find out who the heck killed Ruby. But don’t!!! The tenseness, the suspense and the twisty-turns are well worth the wait!

I think the above statement shows how I felt throughout this remarkable read. I’m surprised my heart never gave out with how hard is was beating. Either that, or I’m surprised it never broke a rib. I found that everything around me faded when reading the words through the pages. I felt cold sweat dribble down my spine with how tense and unnerving this story is. This author is incredible with how she pulled this storyline off.

The characters all had their quirks;
Stella - self-righteous at times, hippy-like, seemed laid back and a doting mother.
Vivienne - experiences a traumatic experience in childhood but made something of herself after everything she’d been through. She’s a hero woman, a woman who fights for what she wants and who’s fiercely protective.
Cleo - sweet teenager, very naive but very much a loving child. Not your typical teenager and is strong and level-headed when she needs to be.
Alek - mysterious til the very end
Neil - chatty busy body neighbour who was highly irritating.
Samar - the gay best friend EVERYONE wants.
And so many more.

As we’re taken, scene by scene, we unearth different aspects of the past that plague Vivienne’s nightmares. We’re taking down paths that twist and turn and leave you feeling a little disorientated.

I did figure the majority of it out before the massive explosion at the end but that’s because I’ve read so many psychological thrillers and know to read outside the box. It didn’t take away the ‘who killed ruby’ because that I didn’t guess at all!!

Incredible read. Not an easy read, it’s one that will consume you completely. But perfect for psychological thriller fans.
