5 *****

I didn’t realise this was the 18th book in the series!! But it can be read as a stand-alone, so don’t you worry. I’m also extremely happy that there’s 17 other books in this series because it was simply brilliant.

I love a good cozy mystery and I’m forever finding new authors and not all are that amazing but this author is fabulous. Though his use of the word ‘one’ when people talk is really irritating and Evvie’s last name was just too difficult to pronounce, it was a fabulous little read.

Jude is a fabulous character and I always love a cozy mystery that include ‘old biddies’, I find they’re the best ones to read!! I wasn’t fond of Carole’s character at all, she was a little aloof and boring but she had a good role when they talked to people.

Another thing that grate on my nerves was how this author seemed to demean self-published authors. Whether it was just for the story or the characters, it made me uncomfortable as I’m a self-published author myself.

This book is definitely a 5* read and I’m looking forward to diving into the 17 books

I like how all the characters pooled together and made the plot and storyline work and how they all tied into the case in some way.

Fabulous book, definitely highly recommended and a perfect little read in front of a cozy fire.
